DIASPORA VIBE CULTURAL ARTS INCUBATOR

Our mission to promote, nurture, and cultivate the vision and diverse talents of emerging artists from the Caribbean and Latin Diaspora through our exhibition programs, artist in residence programs, international cultural exchange and education and outreach activities that celebrate Miami-Dade’s rich cultural and social fabric.

We are a contemporary Caribbean Art Incubator.

About
Us

Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator is a 501(c)3 organization with a mission to promote, nurture, and cultivate the vision and diverse talents of emerging artists from the Caribbean and Latin Diaspora through our exhibitions, artists-in-residence, international cultural exchange, education, and outreach activities that celebrate Miami-Dade County's rich cultural and social fabric. DVCAI is an immigrant-facing, afro-descendant organization whose DNA is rooted in a mission-based quest to turn up and operate in the community.

Our ongoing work in the community for 30 years has created strong bonds with individuals and organizations by creating intergenerational followers and a unique longevity of patrons, board members, and represented artists. As an incubator organization and space, we work with emerging artists who have participated locally in Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and Master of Fine Arts Programs (MFA), who practice outside academic spheres or are multidisciplinary. DVCAI continues to build an artist ecosystem that includes contemporary artists, writers, curators, and scholars. DVCAI’s status as a SouthArts ArtHere partner amplifies local arts partnerships and expands the reach of programs to new audiences.

DVCAI is dedicated to advancing and expanding conversations and actions through strong curatorial manifestations of racial justice, gender equality, and equity in the U.S. and the Caribbean region where we work. DVCAI’s expertise in producing this work lies in its 30 years of experience designing residencies, facilitating success for over 2,600 intersectional diasporic artists, and building exhibitions focused on diversity and international cultural exchange in the United States and in 23 countries. Since 1996, DVCAI, the premier Afro-diasporic arts incubator in Miami, Florida, has been an industry leader in creatively facilitating institutional change, and its work counters anti-racial sentiment by building cultural bridges of understanding across regions and nations.

"My residency experience fundamentally shifted my relationship to my practice, to myself, to art, and to life. It affirmed intuitions I had and showed me things I desperately needed to hear and see."

Artist-In-Residence

As a studio artist resident with DVCAI, I've had the incredible opportunity to be in the heart of DVCAI's homebase, to witness and exchange with diverse, like-minded artists, fostering both my creative growth and cultural understanding. The Incubator's supportive environment has truly inspired me to push boundaries in my work, making this an enriching and transformative experience.
