Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator (DVCAI) is pleased to present the September 2024 Writer-in-Residence, Gordon Myers, musician, director of The Diaspora Vibe Afrobeat Allstars, and founder of the multinational electronic rock group, The Hongs. Myers will participate in the DVCAI Artist-in-Residence Program in collaboration with the Betsy Writers Room Residency, to be hosted at The Betsy Hotel from September 2 to September 7, 2024. During his residency, Myers will dedicate time to writing original music and lyrics, to be later released on Spotify.
On Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 11 am, Myers will present works in progress and a performance with guest artists. Participants will enjoy live music and gain insight into the writers’ practice and motivations. The Betsy Hotel is located at 1440 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach, Florida 33139.
This residency encourages the development of experimental works, the sharing of new projects, and long-term engagement with the Miami-based, Global South organization, Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator.
